De tweejaarlijkse architectuurprijs
De tweejaarlijkse architectuurprijs van de provincie Vlaams-Brabant werd gewonnen door BOB361 architecten met het woonproject voor 17 sociale woningen in de Heidebergstraat te Kessel-lo. De prijsuitreiking vond plaats op 2 juni 2007.
Hetzelfde project werd tevens genomineerd in de categorie "residentieel gebouw" voor de Belgian Building Awards.
Het project kwam als winnaar uit een door de stad Leuven uitgeschreven architectuurwedstrijd. Kenmerkend zijn een grote woonkwaliteit gecombineerd met grote dichtheid en strakke doordachte architectuur.
De zes woonvolumes worden geflankeerd door een hedendaagse parkbegraafplaats en doorsneden door een ludiek speelpark. Een grote diversiteit van woningen (1, 2, 3 of 5 slaapkamers) met tuin en/of terras, een rechtstreekse toegang naar straat, tuin of park en de beschikking over gemeenschappelijke overdekte autostaanplaatsen zorgen voor een uitzonderlijke woonbeleving. Bijkomend is dit ondersteund door een uitstekende wisselwerking tussen architectuur en infrastructuur.
De VMSW feliciteert bouwheer SHM Dijledal met deze bijkomende "kers op de patrimoniumtaart".
